Why North Bay Property Owners Call Us

Three Generations of Paving

Richard is a third-generation paving contractor, and his son works beside him on the crew. The family name is on the work, and the family answers the phone.

Asphalt and Concrete

Most companies do one or the other. We install both, so you get a recommendation based on your property, not on the only material a contractor happens to sell.

Our Own Equipment and Crew

Paver, rollers, dump trucks and compaction equipment, run by our own crew. The schedule and the quality stay in our hands from grading to the last pass.

Built for Sonoma County Ground

Clay soils that swell in the winter rain and shrink all summer. We have paved on this ground since 1988, and we build the base for what it does.

What You Can Expect

How a Job With Rich's Paving Runs

From the first site visit to the final pass of the roller, here is how it goes.

1

Look at the Job

We come see the site: the old surface, the ground under it, how water moves, and what the job really takes. No blind quotes over the phone.

2

Clear Estimate

You get a written estimate with a real number and a real timeline. It covers what is included, from grading and base rock to the finished surface, and it holds unless the scope changes.

3

Do the Work

Our own crew and equipment show up when we said and build the job the way we quoted it. Base first, then the surface, compacted and finished right.

4

Walk It With You

Before we call a job done, we walk it with you. Clean edges, solid compaction, water running where it should. Done means you say it is done.

FAQ

Questions Property Owners Ask Us Most

The questions North Bay home and business owners ask us most. Don't see yours? Call, and you will be talking with the family that does the work.

Call (707) 217-0835

What areas do you serve?
We work out of Petaluma and cover Sonoma County and the North Bay. That includes Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, Cotati, Sonoma, Sebastopol, Windsor, Healdsburg, and Novato and San Rafael in Marin County. If your property sits outside those towns, call us anyway. If it is in the North Bay, the answer is usually yes.
What services do you offer?
Asphalt and concrete, from one contractor. Asphalt driveway paving, commercial paving and parking lot striping, asphalt sealcoating, asphalt repair and patching, concrete driveways and flatwork, concrete patios and stamped concrete, grading and drainage, gravel driveways, and retaining walls.
Do you install paver stones?
No. Interlocking paver stones are one thing we do not install, and we would rather say that plainly than take a job outside our trade. If you like the look of stone or brick, stamped concrete gets very close in a single poured slab, and we do that work often.
How much does a new driveway cost?
It depends on the size, the condition of the ground under it, how much grading and drainage work the site needs, and the material you pick. We look at the property first, then put a clear written estimate in your hands. For market price ranges, the driveway cost guide on our blog is a good place to start.
Should I pick asphalt or concrete for my driveway?
We install both, so you get an answer based on your property instead of a sales pitch. Asphalt costs less up front, goes in fast, and is simple to repair. Concrete costs more but lasts longer and handles hot sun without softening. The slope, the soil, and how you use the driveway usually decide it.
How long does a paving job take?
Most residential driveways are paved in a day once the base is ready, with a day or two of grading and base work before that. Parking lots run longer and are usually done in sections so the property stays open. You get a schedule with your estimate, and we hold to it.
How do estimates work?
We come out and look at the job. Paving prices live in the details a phone call cannot see: the ground under the old surface, drainage, access, and how much base work the site needs. After the visit you get a written estimate with a real number on it.
How do I get started?
Call (707) 217-0835 or send the form on this site. You will be talking with the family, not a call center. We will talk through the job, come take a look, and get you an estimate.
